On December 5, 2025, Craig woke up to alarming numbness and pain in his right leg. A rapid trip to the emergency room revealed a severe leg aneurysm, leading to immediate, high stakes surgery.

The initial recovery seemed hopeful, but after being discharged to a recovery center, Craig developed serious complications. Just a week later, the difficult decision was made to amputate his right leg above the knee.

Throughout this critical time, his wife, Thea, an RN who has dedicated over 25 years to working with the geriatric population, has been unable to work. She remained steadfastly by his side, advocating for his care every step of the way.
