Look at this baby..  This is Cowboy, and he's my baby. He just celebrated his 3rd birthday….and since the day he became mine, his clownish energy and loving nature has been the greatest gift a dog parent could ask for. Although he is an Australian Shepherd, he is also a healer…he healed my heart after the tragic and sudden loss of our former Aussie, Gypsy. He healed my husband’s heart after losing his parents 3 weeks apart in 2022. He consoled and brought him joy at a time that no person could… in his darkest days.  He is my Velcro dog, my shadow…my best friend. We are not blessed with children, he is our child.

The last 8 weeks have been heart-wrenching. Our sweet Cowboy has a condition that the doctors have defined as rare…a CT scan has revealed a soft tissue mass behind his eye which is pressing his eye outward. He also has swelling below his eye and even his neck. The salivary gland located in his cheek is inflamed and abnormal. We were referred to the University of Tennessee for more testing, an ultrasound guided aspiration of the mass. Today we got the heartbreaking results, “lymphoma”. Everything said after that was a blur. We are devastated.

We know that we are fighting a monster, but this sweet, barely 3 year old baby deserves a chance. This is why we are so grateful for amazing people with huge hearts that come together in times like these. We need you now…Cowboy needs you. Any help, no matter the amount, would mean the world to us!
