This summer, our students are ready to take the stage—we just need your help to get them there.
Help Courtyard Shakespeare Bring As You Like It to Life!
Courtyard Shakespeare is a nonprofit theatre company based in Kansas City, dedicated to mentoring young theatre artists through hands-on, professional Shakespeare productions. Founded as the dream of late theater educator Dan Schmidt, our program pairs students with experienced Resident Artists to foster creativity, confidence, and curiosity.
This summer, we are thrilled to produce As You Like It, directed by Ariel Glorsky and Trevor Seyl, with rehearsals running June 1–10 and performances June 11–13. Our student performers—especially our youngest artists—will be front and center, supported by direct mentorship throughout the process.
As a nonprofit, our work is made possible entirely by your generous donations, which support:
- Sets, costumes, props, and lighting
- Rehearsal and performance space
- Fair pay and travel stipends for Resident Artists
- Educational workshops and materials
This year, we’re working to expand rehearsal time at a designated space, offer more equitable pay for artists, and raise the bar even higher for artistic excellence.
Your support helps make Shakespeare accessible, educational, and empowering for young artists across the Kansas City area. Thank you for believing in arts education—and we hope to see you in the audience for As You Like It!
