Hello, my name is Courtney I am a 39 year old hard working single mother of two boys ages 13 and 17. I work 2 jobs and I’m currently in school working on my Masters at Mississippi College. My house caught on fire Monday, while I was at my part time job. My son’s were home trying to cook waffle fries and there was a grease fire. My youngest son tried to take the burning pot outside and slipped and fell; the couch caught on fire, and spread. They didn’t get out of the house, they put the fire out instead and saved our home. One of my son’s has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his face, hands, legs and feet. The other has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his face, legs and feet. If I could take their pain and scars I would. They are my heroes! I have been by their side this entire time which has caused me to miss work from both my jobs as well as miss school. This is fine because my boys are so much more important and they need me. The 13 year old can not yet use his hands and needs me more than ever and I plan to continue to be by their sides; however I do have a Mortage, car note, and bills that are going to keep coming regardless of my circumstances. I want to be able to continue to support my boys and any help no matter how small would be a Blessing and allow me to continue on this healing journey with less stress knowing I don't have to worry so much about how I will be able to take care of them.
