Courtney is a close friend of mine who has been dealt a string of bad luck. Fresh out of nursing school, she was in a major car accident that inhibited her from starting her first job as a postpartum nurse in Boston.

That didn’t bring her down though; she picked herself back up and found a new job, which is where I had the pleasure of meeting her. Her unlucky streak continued when she was met with another series of accidents that left her out on another medical leave.

With increasing medical bills, she left our job to accept a higher paying offer from a hospital closer to home. Unfortunately, her bad luck continues as despite having clearance to return to work, the new hospital is refusing to let her start until at least January.

Currently, Courtney is looking for other jobs and fighting with her medical team and the hospital to find solutions. However, in the meantime she is struggling to pay for necessities such as rent and food. She is estranged from her family and has limited outside resources, so any little bit helps until she is back on her feet. She is such a kind, humble person, truly a hard worker, and cannot express her gratitude enough.
