Hi, I’m Samantha. Let me tell you about my best friend — my sister, Courtney. She’s a fun loving mother of two beautiful little girls, ages 3 and almost 6. Her husband, Jake, cares for their children while Courtney works hard to support their family.

On September 17th, Courtney collapsed on her in-laws’ front porch and suffered a seizure. She was rushed by ambulance to McLaren Cheboygan, where she underwent extensive testing. Doctors initially hoped it was a one-time event caused by dehydration. However, after a follow-up MRI and consultation with her primary care physician, she received a phone call no one ever wants — asking her to come in to review her results.

On October 10th, Courtney learned she has a brain tumor. While doctors are hopeful it’s benign, it still requires immediate medical attention. On October 14th, she met with a neurologist who referred her to the University of Michigan for surgery to remove the tumor. She will have a more detailed MRI on October 15th to determine the tumor type, but surgery will be necessary regardless.

Courtney faces a 12-week recovery period following surgery, during which she will be unable to work. Brain surgery can also bring long-term challenges that may require physical therapy and rehabilitation.

We are raising funds to help cover medical bills, travel expenses, and to ease some of the financial burden while Courtney focuses on healing. Any amount helps — and if you’re unable to donate, your prayers, good vibes, and shares are deeply appreciated.

All funds raised will go directly to Courtney to help her and her family through this difficult time.

I’ll be sharing updates throughout her journey. Thank you for supporting her recovery.
