As some of you may know, my sister Courtney received a call on Monday informing her that her father, Larry Ballard, had been admitted to the hospital in Abilene on life support due to a brain bleed and injury. Unfortunately, the doctors have stated that the extent of the damage is such that recovery is not possible. That evening, he was moved to hospice care in Abilene, and we have since managed to transfer him closer to Brownwood so that Courtney can be with him every day.

Sadly, Larry did not have life insurance, savings, or any provisions to cover medical expenses. As a result, Courtney is now facing the overwhelming burden of medical bills and paying to put him to rest. On top of that, she has children and works full time, but due to this unexpected tragedy, she has had to miss a lot of work.

If you would like to visit Larry, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Hospice has informed us that, given his rapid decline, he likely won’t make it through the weekend. Larry is currently at Bangs Rehab and Nursing .
