Support Courtney Newsom's Legal Battle

Courtney and Darrell Newsom lost their son to a very tragic accident in August. On Saturday, October 10th, police came to their home and arrested Courtney, placing her in the Craighead Co. Jail in isolation and on suicide watch. Family was told she was being arrested for manslaughter. Courtney was already broken over the loss, but now she is also terrified, alone, and with no information on how to contact her family.

She was scheduled to see a judge on Monday and a bond set. That did not happen. On Tuesday morning, a temporary bond was set. She remained in jail until Wednesday when a few of her friends were able to raise enough money to have an attorney represent her on Wednesday. He advocated for Courtney and was able to get her bond decreased to an amount the family could pay.
