Hi everyone,
I’m writing this on behalf of my best friend, Courtney Sanks, who is currently facing one of the biggest challenges of her life. At just 34 years old, and a newlywed she was recently diagnosed with Stage 2A ductal carcinoma. She underwent breast cancer surgery on April 23rd and is now in the middle of 16 rounds of chemotherapy, with radiation to follow.
To know Courtney is to love her. She’s strong, kind, humble, and someone who has always taken care of others without ever asking for anything in return. When she was first diagnosed, she tried to stay optimistic and assumed she’d bounce back quickly. But the reality of cancer treatment has hit hard — and she now realizes this is going to be a long, difficult journey.
Right now, Courtney is on short-term disability, but that will soon transition to long-term disability, which means a major drop in income. With mounting medical bills and day-to-day living expenses, this diagnosis is taking a serious financial toll on her and her family.
She would never ask for help herself, but as her friend, I know how much even a little support would mean to her right now. Whether you’re able to donate, share this page, or just send her love and encouragement anything helps. Truly.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being part of her village. She has a long road ahead, but with your support, she won’t walk it alone.
With love and gratitude,
Jessica Shack
