Support Courtney and Jose's NICU Journey

My name is Carlyne and I am a friend of Courtney and Jose’s. A fundraiser wasn’t even on Court’s radar when I asked her but I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to support them and love on them!

Her expected due date was 12/6 but now unknown. They consider every day a gift! Court was officially admitted 9/1 at Novant Presbyterian due to PPROM (preterm premature rupture of membranes). The initial scare is her and baby being considered high risk for infection or premature labor. She has been treated with antibiotics to ward off any infection and steroid injections to help baby’s lung development knowing he will be premature.

At this point, they have passed some big milestones. Most women go into labor within the first 48 hours of water breaking. They are now 3 weeks in and seemingly very stable. Baby always has strong heart rate and variability. He is coming in at a higher weight which will help his temperature regulate upon premature birth.

They do know a stay in the NICU is inevitable but that is totally dependent on when he arrives and how well he has or has not developed.

There is a lot more to share but that is the gist. I will update this page as we receive news!

She and Jose are still working as Court’s job is allowing for remote work which is a help financially and to help keep her occupied during her stay.

We don’t yet know the scope of the Nicu stay or the bills that will incur. I’d love to get some good support for them so that their only concern is mama and babies health.

Financial needs

• Nicu bills

• Alternative/healthy food options as Courtney will be in the hospital for many many weeks

• Jose’s gas for the 1 hr (one way)commute from their home to the hospital

Prayer needs

• Mama and Baby to remain stable

• For her to make it to 34-36 weeks

• Full development for baby prior to his arrival

• Peace and Rest in the unknown and the waiting
