Baby Courtland and his mama and Dad are in A Fight No Family Should Face Alone

I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but as a friend who loves this family deeply, I am asking for help on their behalf during the most heartbreaking and overwhelming time of their lives.

Amber and Collin’s precious baby boy, Courtland, has been in and out of the ER and is now in the PICU after doctors discovered a large brain tumor covering a significant portion of his brain. Their world changed in an instant.

Despite everything, there is still hope. Courtland is strong, resilient, and fighting with everything he has — and we are all holding onto that strength alongside him.

This journey has already been incredibly difficult. During surgery, doctors were only able to remove about 20% of the tumor before complications arose. Courtland’s tiny body began to struggle — his blood pressure dropped, and his heart stopped for 30 minutes.

In the midst of fear and uncertainty, God showed His mercy — an MRI after surgery revealed no brain damage. That alone is nothing short of a miracle.

But this is far from over.

Courtland remains in the PICU under constant monitoring. He has experienced additional complications, including a seizure, inflammation at the surgical site, and fluid buildup in his brain. Doctors are now planning to place a shunt to help relieve that pressure. He has been hospitalized since early February, and the road ahead is still long and uncertain as they continue treating his diagnosis of choroid plexus carcinoma. They are working to get him stong enough to begin Chemo. Which will transfer him to oncology

Amber and Collin have not left their baby’s side. They are facing unimaginable emotional pain while also carrying the weight of missed work, mounting medical bills, and the many unexpected life changes that come with a crisis like this.
