On May 1, 2024, my fiancé Cory was on his way to the gas station during his break at work when he got hit by a semi while he was on his motorcycle. He was then taken by ambulance to the hospital where they found he had a broken pelvis, fractured ankle, wrist, and elbow. They also found a grade four laceration on his liver he was then flown down to Indianapolis where he had to stay down there for 9 days. When he was finally released from the hospital he was put on bed rest. He cannot walk due to his injures he can only go from the bed to his wheelchair. Due to his injuries he has to have 24/7 care for a while. Cory has always wanted a Harley so about a year ago he got his first Harley, and it was a super beautiful bike. He also got his endorsement last year. He always followed the laws of the road he wore his protective gear, and he loved riding his Harley. We would go on rides on really nice days out in the country and just enjoyed the country roads. He rode his Harley to work and on nice days. Cory is now working on healing and getting back to normal, but he has a long recovery road ahead.
Cory has always been the type of person to help anyone that needs it, so for him to have to rely on people is very hard for him he has always been very independent. He is very hard working in and outside of work. He was always doing something to stay busy. Him being on bed rest is driving him crazy. The accident has taken a toll on his body, and he will be out of work for a while. Before the accident Cory was the main provider for our household his job covered the big bills. I work but my job doesn't make up for what his income was covering. We both work very hard for everything we have, and we are just trying to keep everything and not lose it. Our rent is high, and it went up after the accident along with his truck payment is just a couple of the bills that we are struggling with. Plus, we had to buy a lot of medical equipment for our house not including the trips to Indianapolis for his doctor appointments. We appreciate any help we can get. Thank you to anyone that took the time to read this.
