Hello everyone,

My name is Cory Lemke, and my journey into politics began when I was a young political science major at Arizona State University in the late 2000s. As a Queer person, I was horrified when our state enfranchised homophobia into its state constitution by denying marriage equality in 2008 through ballot initiative. As a naturalized citizen, I witnessed our state legislature pass the infamous "show me your papers" SB1070 in 2010. As a Tucsonan, I watched in horror the day our Congresswoman was brutally shot at a grocery store a short drive from our home. I didn't find politics; politics found me.

I'm your family, your friend, your neighbor, and your colleague. I got involved with Democrats Abroad because I have seen the havoc Republican policies have on our communities. But I have also witnessed the power our grassroots organizing can have - globally, even. That is why I was one of the founding members of Democrats Abroad South Korea in 2019. It's why I stepped up to serve as the International Treasurer for the Global Democrats Abroad organization. It's why I am proud to serve as the Democrats Abroad Representatives to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) from the Asia Pacific Region.

With President Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race, it is essential our party select the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump and J.D. Vance. That is why I am asking you to support my journey to Chicago as a DNC Representative by donating to my Travel Campaign. I am looking to raise $4,000 to ensure all my costs are covered. My costs are indicated below:

$100 - transportation

$2,100 - lodgings (shared room)

$500 - food

Your donation, large and small, will help me represent our overseas voters at the convention, especially those from the Asia Pacific Region.

After the convention, all contributors will be invited to my post-convention virtual debrief, where I look forward to sharing my experiences, what my takeaways were, how we can help in 2024, and how I plan to apply my convention experience to overseas voters in this important election year!
