Support Cory's Healing Journey Post-Transplant
Donation protected
This is My Son Cory. He was admitted to the hospital in April of 2022 in complete kidney failure! He was only 30 years old. Now 32, he has spent the past 2+ years on Dialysis several times a week while working a full time job.
On Aug 12th, 2024 Cory finally got the blessing of "the call" from Mass General Hospital in Boston saying that they had a kidney for him, which was a perfect match! He traveled down there from his home in Westbrook Maine, the same day and was in surgery by that evening! Cory is now home and doing well but will be out of work for about 3 months to allow for his recovery, giving his body time to heal and to insure there is no complications. Although Cory and our family are more than grateful, happy and so relieved that Cory was able to get his transplant this has caused a huge financial burden for him. Currently he is the only wage earner in his household and though he will be getting partial pay from his job it wont come close to covering his basic bills and living expenses like food, rent, utilities, car payments ect... as well as ongoing travel expenses going back and forth to Boston every week to see his doctor and for labs.
Although everything looks good for him there are a lot of uncertainties right now. We are trying to raise some funds to help offset his living costs and travel expenses for the next few months, so he can fully heal, regain his strength, get back on his feet and back to work.
If you cannot give financially that is understandable, please share this link with your friends, family and network and help us get Cory the help he is in dire need of now. Everything helps. On behalf of myself and my family, we thank you all in advance for any support you can offer right now, with love and gratitude in our hearts.
Thank you
