Cory’s battle began last year, at 27 years old he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He immediately faced a whirlwind of tests, scans, & appointments before undergoing surgery in June 2025 to remove 3 tumors. After surgery, Cory was placed on strict bed rest for 4 weeks, followed by endless appointments, scans, & months spent anxiously waiting for good news… By March 2026 we learned that his battle wasn’t over just yet.
With the help of Novant Cancer Center, Cory & his doctors are optimistic as he begins week 3/16 of aggressive chemotherapy. Years of emotional damage from the Steelers has prepared Cory for adversity, and he’s fighting cancer with the same stubborn loyalty he’s given the Steelers for years.
Though he’s spent most of the last year silently battling cancer, Cory has finally agreed to allow his community to support him in his fight. Asking for help has never come naturally to him, especially as a stubborn Florida man, so his (favorite) friends created and will be updating this page for him while he receives treatment.
Despite the side effects of treatment, Cory’s still determined to work when he’s physically able to. Even on exhausting treatment days, he shows up from 4pm-1am before heading to chemo at 7am. Though insurance helps, the cost of treatments, medical bills, & everyday living expenses have become overwhelming. Every bit of support means Cory can focus more on beating cancer instead of worrying about paying the bills that come with it.
Donations will help cover Cory’s mounting medical expenses including chemo, medications, tests, scans, & surgery costs. As well as travel expenses for appointments & living costs during his treatment & recovery.
He’s the kind of man that anyone would be lucky to call a friend. The type that’s down for anything, with a smile hidden under his beard & zero questions asked. He’s loyal, funny, the BEST listener, an absolute anime nerd, & the first to help someone else without ever expecting anything in return. Right now, he deserves that same support back.
The goal is simple: help Cory focus on beating cancer instead of affording it.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much. Thank you for becoming a part of his fight and reminding Cory he’s not alone in this battle.
