On November 21, less than a week before Thanksgiving, Cory Rison, a dedicated four-year Guild employee, was unjustly terminated. Cory, a father of two, is now without employment and health insurance for himself and his children. Having paid a $150 quarterly health insurance premium for his family, his health benefits normally would have been extended through the end of the year. However, included in his termination documents was a refund check of the premium. Benefits for himself and his family now end abruptly on 11/30.
Cory worked in the Foreign Levies and Signatories Departments and was one of the dedicated staffers who worked the picket lines during the 2023 strike. As the WGSU fights for workplace justice, Cory’s union siblings are asking for donations to support him and his family through this difficult time. Cory is appreciative of any support and thanks everyone for their kindness.
