Hi, my name is Cory O'Neal Jr., and I want to share my story with you. In 2018, during my senior year of high school, I experienced a stroke that led to a diagnosis of heart failure. This was the beginning of a challenging journey, but I remained determined to overcome these obstacles.

In 2020, I had a heart defibrillator implanted in hopes of managing my condition. Unfortunately, my heart continued to struggle, and I became very sick in October 2023. My doctor shockingly told me that I was a dead man in bed.

In November of the same year, I underwent open-heart surgery where I received a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD). That hospital stay lasted 40 days as I fought hard for my recovery.

I was able to get on the transplant list at Piedmont Atlanta in 2025. I spent my 26th birthday this year in the hospital, but here I am on day 29 in the hospital and scheduled for transplant on day 30. I've always faced so many health problems throughout my life; I've had 25+ surgeries, and yet I'm still here. I’m excited to get a chance at life again. God is good!

I have insurance, but this campaign will help cover expenses that my insurance won’t cover. I am starting this campaign because I am from Alabama, and my wife and I will be relocating to Atlanta for my recovery. I will need time to heal as I adjust to my new heart and the necessary follow-up care.

This journey brings significant medical expenses and ongoing costs for our relocation and care, which is why I am launching this GoFundMe campaign.
