In August, this wonderful young man and his family went on a frightening journey of doctor visits, blood tests, X Rays, bone marrow biopsy, and chromosome tests, ending in a diagnosis of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). Cory started treatment in the hospital for 3 days, and will continue treatment at home. He is able to keep working, but figuring out medication dosage, managing side effects, and fighting illness is a work in progress.

His loving wife shared these words of hope, “Cory’s long term prognosis is excellent as the treatment for CML is very effective. He will be on medication indefinitely. For the time being, we are taking things one day at a time and hoping that sooner rather than later he will be living a mostly normal life with minimal medication side effects”.
