Hi, my name is Jadyn, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my mom Cortney Borchardt.

My mom is a registered nurse, a single mom, and the strongest person I know. In August of 2021, she was diagnosed with Acral Lentiginous Melanoma (ALM), a rare form of melanoma not caused by sun exposure. At that time, a large malignant tumor was found on the bottom of her foot and had to be surgically removed, followed by additional surgeries and long recovery periods.

Since then, her journey has become much harder. My mom’s melanoma has progressed to metastatic melanoma, and she is currently undergoing ongoing treatments and taking multiple medications that are extremely expensive. In addition to cancer treatments, she also requires costly medications for psoriasis and recently underwent a hysterectomy, adding further medical and recovery expenses.

Right now, my mom has not been doing well. Between medical bills, treatment costs, medications, and time away from work, the financial stress has been overwhelming. As a nurse, she has always taken care of others which is why I feel the need to help her the most now.

We live just the two of us, and my mom is the only source of income in our household. I am now 16, and while I’m trying my best to stay strong and keep life moving forward, I want to do everything I can to help her focus on healing instead of worrying about how expensive treatments that keep her going everyday affect our stability financially.
