My name is Cortney Farmer. On February 15, 2025, my children,.my children's father and myself were forced to evacuate our home due to to severe flooding. Around 10:30 pm, our trailer became surrounded by flood water, which resulted in fire and rescue having to rescue us. I watched as my children were carried across flood water to safety, all while trying to determine what personal possessions were important. We left with a backpack of belongings each.. Right now,.we are in a motel room in hazard Kentucky until Sunday, February 23, but I don't know what we will do for shelter after that. I need help paying for our motel room until we can find permanent shelter. I have an autistic child who is struggling especially, and I'm trying, for his sake, to avoid crowded shelters because his condition causes him severe distress when he's in loud, crowded areas for a prolonged period of time. My children are traumatized and all I want is for them to be in a peaceful environment while we figure out our next move. ANYTHING will help and be appreciated beyond words. Thank you.
