At just 36, my brother, Corey, had a stroke caused by a brain bleed that left him paralyzed on his left side. In a moment, his life - and ours - was forever changed. His friends acted quickly to save his life, and we trust that God is not done with his story yet.

Neurosurgeons have said Corey will never walk again, but he's been working hard to regain strength with the help of the Shepherd Center where he's determined to prove them wrong. We are truly blessed that he was accepted into the best program in the country.

However, he will be released from Shepherd soon and the reality of life at home with medical complications is setting in. Soon, he will move back in with my parents who own a split-level, so they will need to renovate to accommodate him. Alongside mounting medical costs and ongoing PT that we've been told will last at least 1 year, bills are piling up.
