Support Corey’s Cancer Journey

Hello my dearest friends and family. I am creating this GoFundMe for my daughter and bonus son, Ashley and Corey. As many of you know, Corey has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer. Although we don’t quite know the severity of it, we know enough. We know Corey has an uphill battle ahead with treatment to include surgery, radiation & chemotherapy — or any combination of these. At a minimum, Corey is looking at treatment 5 times a week, for six weeks. We are trusting that good Lord to equip his medical team with all the knowledge and resources to facilitate a great outcome.

In order for Corey to receive the best treatment with the best team of providers, he will be receiving his cancer treatments at the University of Alabama - Birmingham [UAB], which is a 400 miles, 7 hours round trip. Travel alone will prove to be a huge financial burden - fuel, along with lodging, meals, and parking - which is $2-8/day. They will also have to make arrangements for their furry children while away. Though there are some organizations that offer minimal assistance, they still have many added expenditures.

For obvious reasons, Corey is unable to work and Ashley has limited paid time off for the remainder of the year, so their funds will become limited very soon. This is why I want to do what I can to help alleviate any of their burdens so focus can be on treatment and healing. Once our prayers are answered, Corey could still have therapies to include speech and physical therapy, regular massages, etc.

Even if you can’t give a monetary donation, please continue to lift Corey and Ashley up in prayer, send them your words of encouragement, and keep them in your thoughts.
