On March 26, 2024, Corey suffered two strokes and a heart attack. He was transported to Ingalls Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to the University of Chicago. Corey has been in ICU there since then, has undergone numerous surgeries, is on a ventilator, and now has a tracheotomy in. The stroke has left Corey with extremely limited use of his left side, and he is unable to speak or move, but he does have very limited use of his right hand and is able to write, with much effort and struggle.
For those who don't know him, Corey is an extremely talented musician and artist who goes by the name C.A. Brown. His positive, contemporary, rap music has inspired and reached many worldwide. Corey is a Godly man, and his music is a reflection of his faith in the Most High.
Corey's beautiful wife, Ebony, and their daughter, have been under enormous emotional and financial stress under the weight of all of this, and Corey's journey to recovery has only just begun. Soon Corey will be transferred to a long term care facility for the long and arduous journey of intense rehabilitation so that he can get back on his feet again.
Corey's family has struggled to keep everything together under the mountain of medical bills coming in and it is uncertain now when Corey will be able to return to his work and his music.
