Help a Young Musician Heal and Support His Family: Tragedy Strikes Salem, SC’s, Musical Heart

This is a heartfelt appeal on behalf of Corey and Judy Stevenson, two incredible individuals who have been hit by an unimaginable double crisis. Corey, an exceptionally talented musician, and Judy, his dedicated wife and rock, are facing overwhelming medical and financial stress right now.

Corey Stevenson is a deeply respected fixture in the East Coast music scene. A humble man originally from West Virginia, Corey began playing music at the tender age of 9. Since moving to South Carolina in 2007, he has captivated audiences with his skill, dedication, and powerful performances. His talent is recognized far and wide; he has released two albums and has even opened shows for national acts. Corey and Judy have called Salem, SC home since 2023.

An Unimaginable Double Blow

Corey's entire livelihood is his music—he typically travels all over the East Coast to perform and dedicates 2-4 hours a day to practicing. This career is their sole source of income.

1. Corey's Car Accident: On December 10, 2025, Corey was involved in a terrible vehicle accident which the police deemed to be no fault of his own. He is currently healing and completely out of work, forcing him to miss numerous shows. Crucially, Corey does not have health insurance and is still potentially facing surgery. He is unable to practice or perform right now, instantly halting their income stream.

2. Judy's Cancer Battle: Compounding this tragedy, Judy was diagnosed with breast cancer just a month ago, on November 17, 2025. She is scheduled for surgery on December 30th. Judy is the anchor of their family (they have been together since 2021) and the one who meticulously ensures everything runs smoothly. Now, she faces major surgery and recovery while simultaneously caring for her injured, out-of-work husband.
