Growing up, my parents had an open door policy in our home where friends, neighbors, and new faces could gather for a home-cooked meal and quality time. Mom is known for her hospitality, always making sure everyone feels welcome and cared for.

As many people know, Dad owned his own business for many years, and he always put his customers’ needs first. His generosity and willingness to help others went beyond the 9-5 work schedule and holidays. He was the person friends called when their AC went out or the furnace quit working, and he never hesitated to make space in his schedule to help someone in need.

Last fall, Dad made the difficult decision to retire early due to serious health issues with his lungs. He is now on the list for a double lung transplant, and the journey ahead is daunting. After the transplant, my parents will need to temporarily relocate to St. Louis for three months so he can receive the care he needs. During this time, and possibly beyond that, Mom won’t be able to work, as she will be his full-time caregiver. This means they will have limited income while also facing medical bills and living expenses both before and after the surgery.

On behalf of our parents, my siblings and I are reaching out to our friends, family, and anyone who feels moved to help. Every donation, prayer, and kind word means the world to us.
