Support Cora's Dream; Raising a Breeding Heifer
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Cora Winston and I am a junior at Klein High. I have been a part of FFA for three years, and it is something I have truly found my passion in, as I plan to continue in the agricultural field throughout college and into a career. Throughout my time in FFA, I have raised two pigs, a lamb, a breeding rabbit, market turkeys, horticulture and competed in Agriscience and photography competitions, as well as participating in Leadership Development Events and Career Development Events. In addition to FFA, I have also taken advanced academics and maintained a 5.4 GPA that put in the top 3% of my class. As my senior project, it has been my dream for years to raise and care for a breeding heifer. I want to learn as much about the cattle industry as possible. It is my goal in the future to raise a breeding herd of my own, and I intend to learn everything I can about the industry though showing and raising the calf. However, these cattle can range from 3,500 to 20,000 dollars, depending on the quality and competitiveness of the heifer. As a part of my plan, I have worked at a meat processor and babysitting for many hours to raise about 2000 dollars towards the purchase of a Red Angus. I also participated in the Calf Scramble in 2024 at Rodeo Austin, Fort Worth, and Houston, and scrambled those again in 2025 with the addition of San Antonio. Totaling seven times scrambling, fortune was not on my side, and I did not catch at a any of them. Your support would allow me to purchase a completive heifer, help me with feed bills and allow me to purchase tack for the calf. Any and all donations would be extremely appreciated. Sincerely, Cora Winston.
