Support Coralee's Battle Against Leukemia
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Sabra Sims. Currently, my 2-year-old daughter, Coralee, is battling High-Risk B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is an aggressive type of leukemia (blood cancer) in which too many B-cell lymphoblasts (immature white blood cells) are found in the bone marrow and blood. It is painful and requires rigorous treatment of several different types of chemo. It also requires the extended use of steroids, which greatly affect their moods. My daughter went 53 days without walking because her body had diminished so greatly during the first phase of treatment.
Our medical bills from 8/13/24 (when she was admitted to the hospital) to 11/15/24 total $398,257.05, and we still have 2 years of treatments left. That doesn't account for the money spent on food while admitted to the hospital, or gas to and from the hospital or clinic. Currently, 21 days inpatient. We go to the clinic anywhere from 1 to 3 times a week (134 miles round trip) depending on what she needs. She has had 14 blood and platelet transfusions as well.
We have been extremely blessed in the fact that our insurance has covered most of these medical bills, and I work for an outstanding company that understands that family comes first and doesn't bat an eye when I miss work to take care of my daughter. This has brought to light, though, how much this is not the case for most families. The last thing you should be worrying about while trying to help your child literally fight for their life is bills.
The entire purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise money for the families of McLane's Children Hospital in Temple, TX.
No matter if you donate $1, $5, or $100,000, your money is going straight to those children battling cancer. This road is not easy; it is long and brutal. It is staring at your child in a hospital bed, hooked to so many cords and lines, and so diminished from their battle with cancer they look unrecognizable. It is continuously begging God to trade places with them.
Please go donate blood. I never realized how important it was until my daughter's life was fading in front of our eyes, and it took 3 bags of blood back to back to get her to stay conscious again.
Thank you for all of your support and we greatly appreciate each prayer you send out for us during this difficult time.
With Love,
Sabra
