Hello everyone, today we are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of a unique membership component on the COPUS website. As a vibrant and versatile artistic powerhouse, COPUS has been dedicated to crafting and delivering extraordinary music and captivating spoken word poetry that transcends boundaries and resonates with diverse audiences worldwide.

COPUS is renowned for its eclectic fusion of genres such as jazz, classical, world beat, and reggae, creating a unique and timeless sound that invites listeners on an immersive journey of emotions and experiences. Our music and spoken word poetry embody the spirit of "Renaissance Funk," blending the profound eloquence of Maya Angelou with the innovative musicality of Esperanza Spalding. We pride ourselves on producing original material with a positive message—rap without violence, hip hop with a degree, jazz with lyrics, and classical with a beat.

Our journey has taken us across the United States, performing at legendary venues such as The Bitter End and Feinstein's 54 in NYC, SF Jazz Center and 1015 Folsom in San Francisco, The Cutting Edge Festival in New Orleans, and The Courthouse Arts in Rhode Island. These performances have allowed us to share our message and connect with audiences from all walks of life.

Our commitment to excellence and social justice has not gone unnoticed. COPUS has been honored with several prestigious awards, including Best Social Justice/Peace Song at the 2021 W.A.M Awards, Best Spoken Word Music Video at the 2021 Clouzine Magazine International Music Awards, and two nominations from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. These accolades are a testament to the impact of our work and the dedication of our team.

COPUS was formed by renowned poet/spoken word artist Royal Kent and ASCAP award-winning composer/pianist Wendy Loomis. Together with bassist Patrick Mahon and drummer Levon Washington, we have created a core ensemble that delivers soul-stirring performances leaving a lasting impact on our audiences.

To bring our vision of the COPUS archive to life, our goal is set at $8,000 in funding. This amount will enable us to develop and curate and digitize our extensive content library and create an engaging and user-friendly experience for our website visitors.

We invite you to become a part of the COPUS family by contributing to this exciting new chapter in our journey. Your donation will help us preserve and share our rich tapestry of artistry, allowing us to continue inspiring and uplifting through our music and spoken word poetry.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goal.

Thank you for considering our request and for your continued support of COPUS. Together, we can ensure that our unique blend of positive, transformative art continues to resonate with audiences for years to come at their leisure. Fun for all of our website visitors.

No, sweepstakes, giveaways, or promotions are offered in exchange for any donations made to our GoFundMe.
