Hi, I am Copper’s mom. I need help getting my best friend the vet care he needs. We got him into the vet today and received the unfortunate news that he has contracted Lyme disease and it is showing impact on his kidneys. Copper started showing signs last week of being ill. Sleeping a lot, weak, not wanting to eat or drink, developed pale gums and ears, sunken spots behind his eyes, and we learned today at the vet that he lost 6 pounds over the course of a week. He got checked out today, received IV fluids, nausea medication, and antibiotics that he will be taking for the next month. He needs additional testing and possibly treatment that I cannot afford. I know as his owner it sounds horrible that I can’t afford his care at this time. Unfortunately I am struggling in life so bad. Which leads me to how Copper and I initially bonded when he came into my life and why he is soooo special to me. Copper came to me and kept me here on this earth. I have struggled with mental health issues for the past 16 years of my life however in 2021 it took a turn for the worst not to mention the beginning of my chronic physical pain. I am still trying to fight to get myself and my life back together. Copper became the greatest love I’ve ever known and needed. He is my literal best friend, companion, pup soul mate, my guardian.
