My daughter and her boyfriend’s Irish Setter, Copper had a pretty cool day today. He met his biological mom and a sibling from another litter, went to Cabela's….

Then suddenly tonight, he started acting weird—whimpering, pacing, laying down instead of running around in his yard.

Suspecting bloat, they took him to the emergency vet.

Sure enough, his stomach is twisted.

He has GDV (Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus)

They had to borrow $7200 quickly to get him into surgery or Copper would die.

Erin and Bryan had to leave Copper in the hands of the vet and hope for the best as they went home. A great day turned into a horrible night.

This is devastating money for young people just trying to start out together. There will be more expenses as he recovers.
