Hi, my name is Cooper Beeman, and I’m a passionate musician and tuba/contra player in my high school band. Music has been a huge part of my life, especially through concert band and marching band, where I’ve grown not only as a performer but also as a person.
I’ve recently been given an incredible opportunity to march with the Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps this upcoming season. Battalion is a highly competitive drum corps that performs across the country and is known for its strong community, high performance level, and focus on developing young musicians. Being part of this group would allow me to further develop my skills, especially as a contra player, learn from amazing instructors, and be part of something truly unforgettable.
What really draws me to Battalion is the chance to take everything I’ve learned so far and push it to the next level. Drum corps is an intense and rewarding experience that challenges you both musically and mentally, and it’s something I’ve been working toward for a long time.
However, participating in drum corps comes with significant costs, including tuition, travel, housing, and equipment. I am working hard to cover as much as I can on my own, but I’m asking for help to make this opportunity possible.
Any support, whether through donations or simply sharing this fundraiser, would mean the world to me. Thank you so much for helping me take this next step in my musical journey! As my great band director Derek Smith says, “Where words fail, music speaks. Always happy, never satisfied.”
