As many of you know, I adopted Cookie just over 8 years ago. Throughout this time, she has faced various health scares and issues but has always triumphed.

This past Sunday, Cookie started throwing up and experienced explosive diarrhea. By Monday, her condition worsened, and she began rejecting all food except for a handful of Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets. Today, she rejected all food before she continued vomiting undigested food and began passing blood in her stool. I was able to secure an emergency vet appointment this morning, and she is now in the loving care of our animal hospital, which has saved her life on multiple occasions.

Despite not having health insurance due to her age and pre-existing conditions when I got her, Cookie has overcome many challenges. Usually, I have some time to plan for her health issues, but this sudden onset was entirely unexpected. I could genuinely use any help possible with the anticipated medical bills, which are estimated to be around $4,000 at the lower end.
