My name is Contessa Thornton. I am a writer, director, and producer working independently to bring an important true story to the screen—PTSD, a biographical film about my father, a Vietnam veteran who lost his life to complications from Agent Orange.
This film is deeply personal. It is about the lasting effects of war, the reality of PTSD, and the sacrifices made by veterans and their families—stories that deserve to be told with honesty, dignity, and care.
As an independent filmmaker, I finance my work myself and am building my filmmaking lane step by step. Projects like my current series help me develop the resources, experience, and team necessary to ultimately bring PTSD to life at the level this story deserves.
