Who We Are
We are five students at the University of Tennessee who are raising money for Contact Care Lines(CCL) ASIST class. CCL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to providing free, compassionate emotional support to individuals experiencing suicidal crisis or emotional distress. We are honored to help this nonprofit, as every dollar directly saves lives by ensuring someone in crisis has a caring voice.
CCL is a local nonprofit that provides free, confidential emotional support to anyone who needs someone to talk to. Their trained volunteers offer caring, nonjudgmental listening through phone, text, and online chat to help people cope with stress, loneliness, or crisis. For over 50 years, Contact has served East Tennessee by reminding people that they’re never alone and that help is always just a call or message away.
What We Need
We have set up this campaign with the goal of supporting Contact Care Line, an organization dedicated to providing free, compassionate emotional support to people in suicidal crisis through text, call, or live internet chat. We are working with the goal of raising $1,500, which will pay for one round at the max capacity of thirty students for CCL’s ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) class.
The ASIST program is an intensive two-day class that is designed to equip people with the skills to provide life-saving intervention to people at risk of suicide. This training program is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive programs in suicide prevention, and your donations will provide this life-saving training free of charge for community members, schools, churches, and local groups who want to be better prepared to save lives.
How It Helps
Your donations will have a direct impact on suicide prevention efforts in our community. Contributions will go towards equipping volunteers with the skills needed to support individuals in moments of need. Each dollar raised helps provide life-saving education in suicide intervention techniques. With your support, CCL can train more responders, expand outreach programs, and strengthen their 24/7 helpline services.
