Support Conrad's Big Sur Marathon Effort with non-profit RRR

My name is Conrad Wagenaar and I am helping raise money for a great cause that means a lot to me.

I will be part of a group running the 2025 Big Sur Marathon. The group is running 42.2km on hilly, coastal terrain in support of the Recovery Road Runners non-profit organization. When the Covid-19 lockdowns began in 2020, I began walking, jogging, and eventually running. Running has been a fantastic outlet for me and has helped me lose more than 120 lbs over the last 4 years. Fitness is a personal journey. My fitness journey in 2020 started off with walking around the neighborhood at a pace of 3 miles (5km) per hour, and I was able to slowly build up an aerobic base from there. Since those first laps around the block, I have managed to complete a half-Ironman 70.3 mile triathlon event, the Cactus to Clouds to Cactus Trail run (C2C2C San Jacinto >11,000 ft climbing in one day), Rim to River to Rim (R2R2R) which involves running across the Grand Canyon twice in one day, the Canadian Death Race (80+ miles (118km) with ~15,000 ft (4200m) ascent across 4 mountains with a time limit of 24 hours), and more than a dozen other ultramarathons and mountain trail races. Most recently, I completed the Kodiak UTMB 50km Ultra trail race in Big Bear, CA on Oct 12, 2024, in a little over 6.5 hours. Big Sur Marathon 2025 will be my first official road marathon, and I am committed to training hard for this event.

Recovery Road Runners (RRR for short) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports and inspires sober runners with 1 on 1 and small group coaching led by certified coaches. RRR offers free resources, training plans, nutrition guides, as well as community and relationship-building events and retreats. RRR started as a Facebook group in 2021 as a place for runners wishing to maintain a sober lifestyle to support one another. Through the leadership of the founder Amber Graziano Cano, her dedicated partner Vinny Wood, and the many dedicated RRR members, the organization has grown and morphed to new heights over the last few years.

100% of the donations go to the registered non-profit Recovery Road Runners in order to provide support and resources for those struggling with alcohol. All donations are greatly appreciated. There is no donation too small to make a difference in someone's life.

With your donation, every step we take on this journey will help someone get the help they need.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or comments.

Thank you very much for your support!
