Support Connor's Journey to Beat Cancer 2.0

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

Mashpee’s Professional Firefighters’ Union is writing to you today with a very heavy heart. Recently, we shared that one of our own was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma. Due to legal language, he was left diagnosed but uncovered by any “job-related” safeguards. Because of this, this member has been receiving advanced immunotherapy treatment and STILL WORKING.

Despite the best efforts by Dana Farber, a recent PET scan revealed that the cancer has spread.

This news has been a shock to all of us as we hoped to be more than halfway through recovery by now. Due to this development, the care team has developed an extremely robust and potent treatment plan that will undoubtedly leave this member unable to work through treatment and long into his recovery.

As you can imagine, this diagnosis has brought about significant emotional and practical challenges. In addition to the physical and emotional toll, we are also anticipating extensive medical bills.

Mashpee Local 2519 is humbly asking the public for their continued monetary help and support in an ongoing effort to offset medical expenses. Any assistance you can offer, big or small, will make a tremendous difference during this difficult time. We recognize and appreciate all the support we have received previously and hope that you’ll consider supporting our member again.
