Support Connor and Kaitlin's Care for Finley with SMA

Please join us in supporting Connor and Kaitlin as they navigate life as new parents to their perfect and precious baby girl, Finley. Shortly after birth, Finley was diagnosed with a rare, degenerative disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 1. SMA is a genetic neuromuscular condition which causes progressive weakness and loss of function in voluntary muscles. SMA can impact movement, development, feeding, breathing and more.

While there is no cure for SMA, Finley was approved for and recently received a miraculous new gene-replacement therapy called Zolgensma to help slow, stop, and prevent the symptoms of SMA from developing in her body. Before gene-replacement therapy, most babies born with SMA type 1 did not live past the age of 2, so we are all deeply grateful and rejoicing in God’s protection and provision over Finley’s life and timing already.

As you can imagine, this heartbreaking diagnosis (on top of becoming new parents!) has come with numerous challenges, sleepless nights, and unexpected healthcare costs for Connor and Kaitlin. While Finley has already received the gene-replacement therapy, she and her parents still have a long road ahead with doctor appointments, weekly lab draws, and perhaps other therapies depending on her development.

Please join us in praying over Finley that her body would respond well to the gene therapy and any other medications her medical team provides. And for “peace that surpasses understanding” for Connor and Kaitlin as they navigate this journey full of unknowns for their precious daughter. And for wisdom and compassion from their medical team as they care for Finley and her parents throughout her life.

Insurance deductibles, unexpected hospital visits, parking, meals, medications, therapies — it all adds up, and we want money to be the last thing on their minds during this season!
