Support Connie on her healing journey
Donation protected
Hi all, I’m Tina Louise, daughter of Constance (Connie) Rich. Here is my mom’s story:
Connie was driving her school bus, on her way to pick up her kids when she came upon a young guy that she thought needed help. He came to her school bus door, and she asked if he needed help. He asked a few questions that demonstrated to my mom that something was off. She asked the guy to please move away so she can go get her kids. He said that he was going to set her bus on fire and that she would “die today”.
My mom - who is 70 years old and fighting lung cancer - wrestled this man off the bus and in doing so, they both fell out of the bus onto the street.
My mom unknowingly intercepted this person who had just gotten out of a rehab. It is unclear if he escaped or was released when he shouldn’t have been, but my poor mom was his first victim. And his only victim because he was arrested and is now in jail waiting for his court hearing. My mom is pressing charges.
My mom can’t do a whole lot. She has a broken elbow and a broken knee cap. Her elbow surgery is done and now she has to go to rehab/physical therapy for both her knee and elbow. She can’t drive so she can’t work, she can’t do her house chores, she can’t cook for thanksgiving, she can’t put up Christmas lights. It’s a sad, rough time.
I set the donation goal at $1000 because that seemed like a nice number but any little bit will help. Worker’s Compensation is covering her medical bills and she’s getting a percentage of her salary. But that’s not enough y’all. We need help. Thank you. ❤️
