My family is looking for help for my Grandma, Connie Douglas. She has been through a lot this past week: surgery, scans, tubes, and more. She also had to be airlifted to Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, where they are continuing to do more scans and tests, but she is making good progress.

We are doing this GoFundMe to take a burden off Jeff so he doesn't feel like he has to constantly work and be away from Connie in order to keep up with all of the costs from her recent hospitalizations and transports.

Update #1

Mom update.

She is doing okay. She had a very major surgery that she is recovering from, which is going to take some time. No matter who you are, there will always be a few complications with that. With her health as it is and has been for a long time, this is not an easy process, but she is a fighter. I will not be posting or giving everyone all the details as it is ever-changing and very difficult to keep up with all of it constantly.

I will say that she is very sleepy but awake here and there and talking with us. She is getting a PICC line today to help with getting more nutrition to her body since she is unable to eat or drink anything yet. They want to be able to have her get up and sit in a chair today. As things are right now, that will be a challenge.

She will NOT be taking any visitors aside from immediate family. I don't want anyone to take that personally or hurt anyone's feelings, but this is just not the time.

I will post here with updates, but not every day. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers as that is what is needed right now.

Update #2

Mom update

On Thursday night, she was transferred via helicopter to Virginia Mason in Seattle due to some ongoing heart rhythm issues. She is supposed to have a couple of procedures tomorrow to get some imaging of the heart and hopefully get that rhythm back to where it should be.

Surgically speaking, she is doing very well. Healing very nicely and minimal pain considering what was done. She is quite happy to be drinking and eating even if it is a liquid diet right now. When she is awake, she is pretty much her normal self. When she sleeps, she sleeps hard because her heart is working so hard and making her exhausted.

Mom update #3 

 She got home last night. She is doing quite well. Basically now it is a rehabilitation process. She is very grateful to be home and for all of the prayers and happy thoughts that have been sent her way. Please don't stop now. Here she is with her beautiful smiling face!
