A very unfortunate family event turned into a tragedy. While hosting an event for the community, a cottonwood tree fell, injuring several vendors and tragically killing one customer.

The family has let me know they do not want help with the funeral. We've already funded $2,673 that I will be giving directly to the family. Anything after this will be donated to the medical bills of the vendors.

We would love for the community to come together and help to cover medical costs, funeral costs, and product losses for vendors. Costs will first go to the funeral, then injured vendors and then to the livelihood of the vendors.

This was such a tragic event that took place for everyone involved.

I am in contact with the mother of the deceased. She does not want funeral costs but since I've already raised a certain amount before hearing from her we will be donating that amount ($2,673).

I am the event coordinator that hosted this event. I've know most of these vendors for years but not related to any of them.



The goal was to give all the money to the family of the deceased first but they asked me to give it to those injuired. As I said above they will be still be receiving some of the money.



I would like to give the money to these vendors first for medical bills as at least two of them have had or need surgery. We are in contact with all vendors checking in on them regularly.



After the medical bills are paid we would like to replace vendors broken canopies, tables, chairs, products and whatever else was not salvagable. These vendors do this as a full time job and now have lost a lot and won't be able to do more events. Vendors are accepting donations of these items also. We have started a list of needs.
