If you've ever grabbed a coffee at Commune on Classon Ave, you know it's not just a coffee shop, it's a cornerstone of the Bed-Stuy/Clinton Hill community. A third space, an incubator, a place where neighbors actually become neighbors.
The NYC Department of Health has shut down the coffee operation, and while the wine bar hopes to reopen soon, the baristas are out of work with no clear timeline for when that changes. They're the people who made your morning, remembered your order, and made Commune feel like yours. And right now they need the community to show up for them.
We've set a goal of $17,000, enough to give each team member roughly three weeks of pay while they wait for news. Every dollar goes directly to the barista team.
If this place has meant something to you, here's a way to show it.
