Support Collette's Fight Against Cancer and Homelessness

Donation protected
Many know, I lost my mother in December of 2021 to metastatic cancer. Now I find myself facing cancer again with one of my best friends, Collette, fighting the same form of cancer. My mom was in her 80s; Collette is in her early 50s, and fighting this battle has taken a toll on her. She moved here to be closer to her daughter, Amani, from Nevada. She enrolled her babies into school and began looking for housing. Within days, she began feeling ill. She was hospitalized with a severe infection in her treatment port. She was in the hospital from November 26 until just now. She came out of the hospital only to couch surf. She luckily found a home in recent days, and if all goes well by New Year's, they may be in a home. I have obtained gifts for the children for the holidays as they are facing a gloomy season for so many reasons.

Now I am asking for assistance for Collette’s expenses for moving and getting her new home. You spend money at Starbucks daily, eat out, splurge here and there. I am asking that for one day you donate from your splurge fund to Collette and the kids. There is nothing more that I want than to see her in a comfortable home with the proper healthcare she requires.

Let me tell you about Collette, the neighborhood mom. I met her when my son Toni was a baby at work. That was over 15yrs ago. He was always at her place. Along with everyone else’s kids. We clicked and have been friends ever since. She has a heart of gold. Her door is always open for anyone. You hungry, tired, need a spot for a few days, she will welcome you with open arms. Now she raised her girls Kendra, Nef, and Amani. They have all moved out and have lives. Collette, being the person that she is, saved three children from the foster care system. The children she is now raising are adopted. If she could, she would take more in. Collette never said no to taking in children. People sometimes took advantage of her kindness, but never did she say a thing.

I am attempting to raise money for her move. Anything you can donate will go to a great cause. You are helping a family who is fighting this together. If you eat out every day, get coffee daily, whatever you splurge on daily, I am asking you to donate to her family. The money will go straight to her and the children. Even a dollar or two would be appreciated. Jaylen is 15, Zari is 10, and little Kaliyah is only 7. The move in cost for her home is $5600. We need a miracle.

Thank you for reading. I hope that you can donate.
