Colleen has been facing an incredibly tough battle with a nerve disorder that causes extreme pain in her face and mouth. A few months ago, her pain became almost unbearable, leaving her bedridden most days and struggling with severe anxiety and depression. Everyday tasks like talking, eating, and working became nearly impossible. She lost 20 pounds, missed many hours of work, made two trips to the emergency room, and spent four days in the hospital. Colleen has seen two neurologists and is currently on a pain clinic waiting list. Thankfully, she is now on medication that is helping a bit with the pain, but she still experiences consistent mild to moderate pain and occasional extreme pain surges. While these surges are less frequent and shorter, her condition remains unpredictable.

Despite these challenges, Colleen has shown incredible resilience. Over the past several weeks, she has managed to do her own grocery shopping, participate in community events, and even find moments to smile and laugh. Many people may not realize the extent of her struggle, as her pain can fluctuate and sometimes she appears well during lower pain cycles. However, after months of severe pain, anxiety, depression, lost work, mounting medical bills, and new prescription drug costs, Colleen is now facing significant financial hardship.
