Support Colleen Perry's Family
This week, our hearts are heavy due to the unexpected loss of our friend since childhood, Colleen Perry.
In a flood of facebook statuses, we collectively learned the horrific news that Colleen was brutally murdered by her boyfriend in Cincinatti, Ohio. I can not bring myself to type the details of this crime for the purposes of the campaign, as it is excruciatingly gruesome, cruel and senseless but the details are available online.
In an outpouring of shock, anguish, anger, disbelief, and confusion, our community from Exeter Township quickly reunited on social media and began communicating about what we could do. I started this GoFundMe specifically to raise funds to give to her family to use towards whatever they may need in regards to Colleen's passing and in their time of grief. I cannot imagine what they are going through, and money should be the very last thing they should have to concern themselves with during this difficult time.
Nothing will ever be able to replace what Colleen's presence gave to those who she touched during her lifetime. Even after all these years I remember her laugh vividly. She was someone who played by her own rules. Endlessly funny, always outgoing and uplifting, I can not remember a time when Colleen was not smiling. She never apologized for who she was, and years later, its one of the things I love and respect most about her.
Colleen was the kind of person you wanted to be around, because you never knew what was going to fly out of her mouth (and whatever did come out, it was most likely random, quirky, and hilarious all at once). She was in another category of person all on her own, and I really believe it is not just a loss on her family and friends, but for the world. The world needs more people like her in it, which makes this untimely and senseless crime all the more painful.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated in raising funds to give to her family for support in whatever way they choose to use it (funeral costs, trial costs, etc.)
Thank you very much for your support during this difficult time.
