It is with the heaviest of hearts that this fundraiser shares the passing of Colin Hilton on Friday, August 21. Colin quietly struggled with depression, even as he showed up fully for the people he loved.

Colin will be remembered as a continuous advocate for youth winter sports, making the best wings west of Buffalo, and frequently traveling home to play a game of Acquire with his brothers and sisters.

He was an influential figure in winter sports for decades as the president and CEO of the Foundation which oversees the Utah Olympic Park, the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center and the Utah Olympic Oval. He was one of the state’s most notable winter-sports executives and a veteran of the organizing committee that staged the 2002 Winter Olympics. Colin worked in economic development for the Park City municipal government, overseeing projects like the development of the Park City Ice Arena. Colins legacy work is unparalleled, and his passion for the development of his community for the next generation was clear.

Colin’s loss has left a deep ache in the hearts of everyone who loved him, especially his children, who are now facing the painful aftermath of saying goodbye.

With the blessing of the family, this fundraiser is being created to support Colin’s three children as they carry the immediate financial burdens that come with this unimaginable loss. The funds will help ease some of the stress they are facing during an already heartbreaking time, allowing them to focus on grieving, and remembering their Dad.

Any donation, no matter the size, will mean so much to us. If you are able to give, please know your kindness and support are deeply appreciated.

It is the family’s hope that others carrying a similar burden will reach out for help. If you or someone you love is struggling, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988.
