Support Colette's Healing Journey

Our amazing Colette was very unexpectedly hospitalized when she began having a sudden onset of seizures in mid-November. Doctors at Riverbend Hospital ran tests and released her this week, but the cause of the seizures is still undiagnosed. She is currently resting at home and being cared for by her incredible family and circle of friends, but she is still experiencing several episodes a day and is awaiting appointments with specialists.

The neurologist at the hospital has pre-diagnosed Colette with PNES, a non-epileptic form of seizures, which does not necessarily respond to traditional anti-seizure medication. And while Colette awaits seeing a medical specialist to determine if this is indeed causing her seizures, suggested treatments for PNES include somatic therapy, acupuncture, reflexology, cognitive therapy, mediation, breath work, and more. Many of these treatments are not covered by her insurance and the lag time for insurance referrals to integrative health providers is prohibitive. Additionally, the hospital bills associated with the treatments she’s received so far will be daunting, even after insurance.
