Cole Rau has been having some pain in his left side and back. We did not think much of it at first as he was just getting back into the swing of things after a few surgeries for testicular cancer last November and beginning of this year in January. The doctors said in March he was cancer free and the cancer was all surgically removed. Unfortunately, the cancer is in his lung and then also pushing on his spine.

Cole will be starting IV chemotherapy very soon which will be difficult and involve daily visits for the first week of the cycles and weekly visits for the next two weeks. Each cycle will be 3 weeks. The doctors are thinking either 3-4 cycles depending on how Cole does. This chemotherapy regimen will be tough on Coles lungs so the doctors will watch them closely. He will also be at a higher risk for infection during this time so he will likely be at home, only leaving for appointments.
