This morning, my best friend Cole and his daughter, Freya, experienced something no family should ever have to face. At around 5am, they were urgently told to evacuate their home due to an active shooter situation right next door. In the chaos and fear of the moment, an explosion occurred, and their entire home was engulfed in flames. By the time the danger had passed, Cole and Freya had lost everything—there was nothing left to save.

Thankfully, Freya is safe and staying with her mom at her house, and Cole is staying with his family out of state as they both work through processing this traumatic experience, and figure out how to start over and rebuild.

The funds raised here will go directly toward helping them secure temporary housing, replace essential items like clothing and personal belongings, and begin the long process of rebuilding a home. Every dollar will help them take the next step forward after this unimaginable loss.
