Update: 10/31
UPDATE - CALLING ALL MY FACEBOOK FRIENDS
I’ve got wild news. I’m coming home Nov. 6th!!! A little earlier than expected but that’s insurance for you
With that being said I have a question/statement for everyone:
We’re going to need lots of help at my house my mom and I - Anybody that wants to visit and spend time, just relax and kick it for awhile please come on by! Any extra people around just in case something might happen is awesome. She can’t always be there and being alone longer than just being in bed sleeping overnight in my bed can be scary in the beginning since I’ll be in a wheelchair/walker hybrid setup
So yeah! Calling out to any one of my friends and family that want to come over and spend time, let me know!
Happy to finally see my pets at home ❤️
Update: 10/20 From Colby
Hey guys, a little update I wanted to share
I’m heading to New England Rehab tomorrow! Finally everything was approved for the transfer. There I start the intense rehab to finally (and I do mean finally) make it back home with assistance. We’re shooting for two weeks! 5 days a week, intense 4 hours a day PT. The final stop. I can’t wait.
Also! I stood up on my left leg all the way up for the first time since the accident! It was a huge step for me that I’m insanely proud of and excited for more. I’ll keep fighting until I’m out running jogs and living life again.
Thanks everyone ❤️
Update 9/25 From Colby
Hey guys - I’ve got an update
I’m no longer in the hospital! I’ve been moved to a skilled nursing facility in Kennebunk. I should be here for a month while I work on Physical Therapy waiting for 2 out of 3 casts to come off hopefully in the middle of October. Then once we reach that stage I will be moving to an acute rehab center to start my 4 hour physical therapy sessions and hopefully be able to make it back home a little each day.
I’m not one to post this and frankly you can ask Zack and Morgan, I was hesitant and struggling to post this.
The medical bills are quite heavy. My mom and I are doing what we can so far but if anyone would be willing to contribute it would mean the world to us. That being said I want it clear - don’t feel obligated to at all. Just having the support from everyone around has been so helpful enough. Just those who can and genuinely would like to.
Thank you to all who took the time to read this all the way through and blessings to everyone who have supported me and my family through this.
Please drive safe
❤️“
Update: 9/12 from Colby himself!
“Hey everyone
Thank you for all the warm wishes, gofundme and Venmo donations
All the support & love & care
I broke a lot of bones - 34 I believe. I had a minor collapsed lung and some small damage to my heart
All of my surgeries on everything were successful! I’m fighting on the road to recovery each day. Hopefully I will be heading to a rehab facility soon. The date isn’t decided yet. Anywhere between 1 - 4 weeks.
Again thank you all for the support
I will try to respond to everyone as best as I can in time
Don’t speed and try to pass cars all over the road. It’s not worth the extra 5 minutes saved. It could cost you your life”
Update: 9/8 Colby is recovering well day by day. He will have a lengthy recovery time. He is in good spirits, and is accepting some visitors. Colby’s care team is working towards discharge in the next week or so from the hospital into a physical therapy facility.
Update 9/5: Colby has been extubated and moved out of the ICU. Colby is doing well!
Please keep him in your thoughts as he transitions to healing!
Update: Colby remains hospitalized in the ICU and intubated following recent surgeries to repair multiple broken bones. Please keep loving and sharing this link for Colby.
Colby was in a head on car accident and is going to be recovering from his injuries sustained from the accident. Colby was lifeflighted to MMC where he remains recovering. Colby is hardworking, and a loyal friend. He always supports his friends through tough times, and it’s time we return the favor.
