Hello! My name is Colbertha, a Jamaican native. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY, but make frequent trips back home to visit my loved ones. Unfortunately, if I am able to make it back after this disaster, it would be to help rebuild from all the damage.

My family is in need, as are many other Jamaicans. I am always the one to look out for others and take care of them. Now, I am asking for help.

What my family is experiencing as a result of Hurricane Melissa is nothing short of devastating. My heart is broken.

I need my family and friends to find it in their hearts to help me, to help them during this difficult time. We may not be able to go back to how things were overnight, but one thing we know about Jamaicans is that we are strong, resilient—we will rebuild and bounce back, one donation at a time!
